Meet Rebecca

Rebecca is an award-winning personal finance journalist with more than 15 years’ experience writing about insurance, budgeting, consumer rights, and household money.

At Young Car Driver, Rebecca focuses on car insurance and budgeting content, helping young drivers and parents understand the practical side of getting covered, managing costs, and making clearer money decisions.

She began her career at Moneywise magazine in 2012, later working as a staff writer at Lovemoney, MoneySavingExpert.com, and This is Money. In 2017, she was named Insurance Journalist of the Year at the Headline Money Awards.

Since 2018, Rebecca has worked as a freelance journalist, contributing to national newspapers and financial brands including MoneySuperMarket, Go.Compare, John Lewis Finance, Direct Line, and Experian. Her work has also appeared in The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, The Sun, Which?, and The Mail on Sunday.

Rebecca specialises in making personal finance topics easier to understand, covering everything from car insurance and household bills to consumer rights and budgeting. Her clear, accurate style is especially useful for first-time car buyers, young drivers, and parents helping them through early money decisions.
