At Young Car Driver, we think you deserve straight answers about how this website works. Our goal is to help young motorists save money, understand their options, and stay safe on the road, and to be open about how we keep the site free to use.
Our guides, tools, and comparison links are free for you to use. We do not charge you any fees for reading our content or for using our links to get quotes.
Instead, we earn money from our trusted partners when you use some of the links and services on our site. This page explains, in plain English, how that works and how we protect the integrity of our content.
1. Insurance disclosure
Our role
Young Car Driver does not sell insurance directly. Young Car Driver is operated by Autedia Limited, which acts as an Introducer Appointed Representative (IAR) of Seopa Ltd, trading as Quotezone.co.uk, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under firm reference number 313860. Autedia Limited’s FCA firm reference number for insurance introductions is 788341.
You can check Seopa Ltd and Autedia Limited on the Financial Services Register. This means the FCA regulates how we introduce you to insurance providers and how we communicate with you about those products.
How it works
When you click a “Get Quote” button for car, van, or courier insurance on Young Car Driver, you are taken to a secure online form on a Young Car Driver branded subdomain that is provided and managed by our partner, Seopa Ltd, trading as Quotezone.co.uk.
They collect your details and use them to show you quotes from their panel of insurers. You are always free to choose whether to take out a policy, choose a different provider, or not proceed at all.
How we are paid for insurance
We do not charge you a fee for using our insurance links or guides.
For car and van insurance, if you take out a policy after using our link, we receive a share of the commission that Seopa Ltd earns from the insurer. This does not change the premium you pay.
For courier insurance, we receive a fixed fee from Seopa Ltd when we introduce you to them as a potential customer. This is usually paid when a valid lead is generated, whether or not you go on to buy a policy.
Our commission for these introductions does not vary by which insurer you choose. Using our links does not increase the price you pay for your insurance.
Insurance disclosure FAQs
These questions explain how our insurance introductions work in practice, how we are paid, how your data is handled, how our partnership with Quotezone operates, and what that means for the prices and results you see.
Q1. Does using a Young Car Driver link make my car insurance more expensive?
No. Using a Young Car Driver link should not increase the price you pay for insurance. The premium is set by the insurer or broker based on your details and their own pricing, and it is intended to be the same whether you come via us or go to that provider directly on the same terms.
Our partner pays us a commission for introducing you, but this comes from their own budget and does not add a separate fee or markup to your quote.
Q2. Why doesn’t Young Car Driver show every single insurer in the UK?
Young Car Driver does not show insurance results directly. Instead, we introduce you to our partner, Quotezone, a provider authorised and regulated by the FCA that manages its own panel of over 130 insurers.
The results you see are a selection of insurers from that panel who Quotezone’s systems identify as more likely to provide cover for young drivers. Quotezone aims to cover a wide range of providers, but because our partner works with a specific panel, the service does not include every insurer available in the UK.
Q3. Does Young Car Driver get paid more depending on which insurer I choose?
No. We only work with one insurance partner, Quotezone, for this service. Our commission with that partner does not depend on which insurer you choose from their results.
Because we only use one specialist partner for insurance introductions, there is no commercial incentive for us to favour one insurer over another.
Q4. Is Young Car Driver an insurance provider?
No. We are an insurance introducer. This means we act as a signpost to help you find a policy, but we do not sell insurance or provide the cover ourselves.
We do not underwrite insurance policies. When you take out a product, your agreement is always with the provider you choose.
Q5. Do you sell my data?
No. We do not receive the personal details you enter into the Quotezone comparison form as part of the quote process itself. Your information is provided directly to our partner, Quotezone, on their own secure platform.
Young Car Driver does not sell user data to other companies. We would only receive your contact details if you separately choose to tick an optional box on the Quotezone form to hear from us directly.
2. Finance disclosure
Our role
Autedia Limited, the company behind Young Car Driver, is a credit broker, not a lender. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under Firm Reference Number 948436.
We currently work with CarFinance 247 as our primary motor finance partner. We do not provide personal financial advice or recommend a specific lender to you. Our content is for information only and is designed to explain how finance works, the risks involved, and the types of products you might see.
How it works
When you click a “Get a Finance Quote” button on Young Car Driver, you are taken to a secure online form provided and managed by our partner, currently CarFinance 247.
They will assess your application and, if suitable, may match you with a lender from their panel. It is up to you whether you go ahead with any finance agreement that is offered.
How we are paid for finance
We do not charge you a fee for using our finance links or guides. If you take out a finance agreement through one of our introductions, we receive a commission from our broker partner, currently CarFinance 247.
Our commission is a set amount for each successful finance agreement arranged through our introduction. It does not depend on which lender you use, the interest rate you are offered, or the amount you borrow.
Our commission is paid by the lender or broker from their own funds and does not add a separate fee or markup to your agreement.
Finance disclosure FAQs
These questions explain how our car finance introductions work, our relationship with our broker partner CarFinance 247, how your data is handled, how we are paid, and how this affects, and does not affect, the finance offers you receive.
Q1. Does using a Young Car Driver link make my car finance more expensive?
No. Clicking through from Young Car Driver does not add any extra fee to the cost of your car finance. The finance rate is set by the lender based on your details and their own criteria, and it is intended to be the same whether you come via us or go to that provider directly on the same terms.
Our broker partner Carfinance247, pays us a commission for introducing you, but this comes from their own budget and does not add a separate fee or markup to your agreement.
Q2. Why doesn’t Young Car Driver show every single car finance lender in the UK?
Young Car Driver works with a specialist car finance partner, CarFinance 247, which uses its own panel of lenders. You may see some of these lenders’ logos on our quote pages so you know who they work with.
When you apply, CarFinance 247 looks for lenders from this panel that may be able to help based on your circumstances. Because they operate a selected panel rather than the whole market, the service does not cover every car finance lender available in the UK.
Q3. Does Young Car Driver get paid more depending on which car finance lender I choose?
No. We only work with one car finance partner, CarFinance 247, for this service. Our commission from that partner does not depend on which lender you are matched with.
It is not affected by the interest rate you are charged or the amount you borrow. Because our commercial arrangement is with a single partner, the lender you choose does not change what we earn.
Q4. Is Young Car Driver a lender?
No. We are a regulated credit broker. This means we act as a signpost to connect you with lenders, but we do not lend money ourselves.
When you take out a finance agreement, your contract is always with the lender you choose.
Q5. Do you sell my data?
No. We do not receive the personal details you enter into the CarFinance 247 application form as part of the application process itself. Your details are provided directly to our partner, CarFinance 247, on their own secure platform.
Young Car Driver does not sell user data to other companies.

If you would like more information about commission for a finance introduction, please contact us at team@youngcardriver.com before you sign a finance agreement.
4. Editorial independence, Consumer Duty and conduct
How we keep our content independent
Our commercial relationships do not tell us what to write. We earn commission from some partners when you use our links, but our guides are written to help young drivers understand their options, not to push one brand or product.
We explain pros, cons, and risks in plain language, even where that may make it less likely you choose a product. Our editorial team works separately from our commercial relationships.
SMF29 oversight and Consumer Duty
Each key guide on this site is reviewed by our founder and FCA approved Senior Manager, SMF29, who takes personal responsibility for the accuracy and honesty of our financial promotions and core educational content.
Under the FCA’s Consumer Duty, we aim to act in good faith towards our users, avoid causing foreseeable harm by clearly explaining risks, and support you in making decisions that are right for your circumstances.
For more on our standards, see our Editorial Guidelines.

Complaints and questions
If you are unhappy with how we have introduced you to a partner, please view our Complaints Procedure.
If your complaint relates to the product itself, for example a claim or a credit agreement issue, you should complain directly to the provider.
