How We Make Money

Last Updated: June 13, 2025

Young Car Driver is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a credit broker, but we currently act only as an introducer for car finance and insurance. This means we connect users with trusted partners who are authorised to handle quotes, applications, and agreements directly.

We earn a commission when someone we introduce takes out car finance or an insurance policy with one of our FCA-authorised partners. This doesn’t cost you anything extra, and it doesn’t affect the price or quote you receive.

Commissions are paid by the provider and may be:

  • A fixed fee
  • A fixed percentage of the amount borrowed

Each partner sets their own commission structure, and we don’t promote one partner over another because of the amount they pay. Our content is independently created and reviewed — you can read more in our Editorial Guidelines.

How to request a commission disclosure

You have the right to ask us to disclose the commission we might earn from your transaction at any time before signing an agreement.

To make a request, please email team@youngcardriver.com and include:

  • Your name
  • The product or partner you’re enquiring about (e.g. car finance or insurance)
  • A note stating that you’d like a commission disclosure before signing

We aim to respond within five working days.

Our regulatory status

We’re authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Our Firm Reference Number is 948436. You can check this on the FCA Financial Services Register.
